Robotics research at IIT Delhi is a joint effort between the Mechanical, Electrical and Computer Science Departments. The group's current focus is virtual presence. The photograph shown depicts a wearable exo-skeleton, which in combination with Controls, Vision, and Graphic rendering, allows a user to be virtually present at a distant location. The engineering challenges are in overcoming bandwidth limitations of visual and haptic sensory information through effective deployment of artificial intelligence and system models.
